Hello all, been having difficulty locating a part on the schematics,
had a local shop perform work, a bit surprised to see the cover missing.

Thanks gentlemen! The cover is the plastic bit that has Vario Cam embossed on it.
And that's what is missing.

Ernie, your 3.0 is the cleanest I've seen! How do you get it to look so pristine?

Mine was missing from my engine. It was readily available when I bought one from Porsche Marin.

Gorgeous! Your 968 belongs in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart!

Great color combo too. There's really no color that doesn't look good on a 968 (my first 968 was black which is my least favorite color; but it was a very good car). My second 968 was a white '95 and was pristine - though still not as clean as your car. I loved that car and I didn't have the heart to modify it as a race car; so I sold it to a friend who improved it. But 2 owners later, it was turned into a dedicated track car (a shame really). My third 968 is a purpose-built race car (the "Amy").
IMHO the 968 was one of the best cars Porsche ever made. The "problem" - strictly from a marketing view - was that the 968 was a better car than the 993!

Ok, ordered the part from my local mechanic, because he said that he could get it. I had called and talked to a rep from Pelican, she told me the part was obsolete, and unavailable. Not that I believed her, but just tired of searching for such a simple part. Here's a pic..
