S2 Ignition Component Frequency

89 S2, replaced plugs last year.....been over ten years (10,000 miles) with cap, rotor, wires, etc. starting to hesitate at 4,000 rpm. Figure new cap, rotor, wires and plugs.........no brainer? Go with Porsche OE or Bosch?

Isn't that the same thing? I've used NGK plugs for many years and have no reason to change. Bosch (where appropriate) for everything else.

The stock wires do not seem to degrade much over time in my experience but if yours are aftermarket that might be a factor. 10K is not a lot on a cap and rotor. What do the plugs look like?

If it starts OK I'd be more interested in fuel and maybe the ignition module.

Starts a little hard (say 5 seconds of crank), but consistent. Wires are OE and look fine, no arching....plugs are stock copper....replaced last year.

I was thinking fuel as an afterthought as well. Look, car runs fine....just seems a bit more hesitant at its sweet spot 4,000 rpm.

Btw.....was asking Genuine Porsche OE or Bosch aftermarket

Plugs replaced last year, but what do they look like now? They might tell you if you have a fueling problem.

I doubt a Porsche box does anything for a Bosch cap and rotor.
