Clutch pedal spring question

While I was under the dash fixing the A/C I noticed the clutch pedal spring was "floating" around inside the bracket. There is a hole drilled in the end of the rod and I was wondering if there is supposed to be a pin in the hole and should the pin and the round nylon piece supposed to be inside the bracket? I couldn't find any references to the specifics of how this should be mounted.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Don't seem to be no pin holing the shaft.

At the bottom of DJNolan's diagram, there's a note about a 3mm pin.

Looking at the picture above, I'm going to guess that the pin would help in the installation of the spring and the rod. With the rod removed, install the spring and pivot, then the pin. Install the rod to the pedal, then pull the pin and let the rod extend through the hole in the bracket.

The pin is used for installation only, then not used.

In this picture, you are missing the large washer near the round end of the rod (marked with red paint).

If you have clutch trouble after reinstalling, be sure to look for a post by me regarding this spring adjustment. The factory manual was either wrong, unclear, or worthless - can't recall at the moment, but it caused me considerable grief.

Mine has the large washer, I just took a picture from the "net" for illustration purposes. On mine the nylon bushing and spring are basically just laying in there, loose. Clutch action does appear normal, however. You know me....I just want things right.
