Oil Galley Plug Removal Necessary?

Inside of engine very clean upon being taken apart for rebuild. After further cleaning (including all visible oil passages) it looks great.

Question: Popping off existing oil galley plugs for further cleaning - necessary?

If you have bits of metal floating about in your oil, as from a trashed rod bearing, then, yes. If that's the case, you may also want to clean out the passages in the crankshaft.

If no prior damage, it's worth the risk to not clean them out.
