A Cool Story about a Porsche Paint Job.
There is a guy in my PCA who has a beautiful 78' 911 SC. It is silver and the paint job is immaculate. I was told about the paint job on it and thought you guys might like to hear it. The paint job costed 8,000 dollars! Of course the glass was removed but this doesn't make a 8,000 dollar paint job, but here is the catch. The guy that painted the car doesn't believe in using solvents to take the paint off because he believes that it effects the bonding of the coats that will be sprayed on. This guy uses RAZOR BLADES to remove every last bit of old paint!!!!! I couldn't believe it. It seems like it would take forever to remove all of the paint with razor blades. The paint job on the car is beautiful though. Just thought you guys would like to hear that.

He has more patience than me. I would have wanted it painted and on the road before I went through one razor blade.

I spent close to 3 grand on my paint job... its not too bad... a little custom pearl essence in the stock burgundy. Looks great, but the guy who did it broke a hinge on my sunroof, and got overspray on the muffler.
