Problem
 

Ok, my car today, I noticed that the first fuel injector when looking at the car from the front is leaking a little fuel from the seal. Now, I washed it this mornin and took it for a drive... i was cruising along and occasionally when accelerating, the car would do this sort of surge and jerk thing... and the idle would drop... it fellt like I was hitting the rev limiter at about 4grand RPM. So I called the shop... and im bringin it in in a couple a days... but, im curious to know whats up. I am sorta thinking my timing might be just a hair off... I could stand to replace the belt, its been 45,000 miles since last done. Anybody had either of these problems with surging or injector leaks before??? thanks....

Hate to tell you, but it could be many many things. Not likely to be the belts though as far as I understand. Fix the leaking fuel injector and see what happens.

GET THE BELTS DONE SOON!!! Just replaced all of my intake valves due to a broken belt....

45K is a good time to change belts.. so don't act like it's an emergency or something.

Don't forget to retention the belts 2500 after replacing them.

I have a leaking fuel injector also. I don't have any wierd problems such as described, just a little leaking gas. Does anyone know what all I need to do to fix the seal? It looks as if it is an o-ring. Help on a proceedure and parts supplier would be greatly appreciated (place to get the seals, not injectors).

Dave951..u can use the chrysler or dodge o-rings...get it replaced before the car set on fire...remember the turbocharger is underneath it..hope this don't happen..

Actually, the turbo is on the opposite side on the compartment from the fuel injectors, however, I agree that it is still a scary situation.

O-rings are avalable from most any parts dealer for about a $1.00 a peice. Just did all 4 during a valve job. Not a hard job.

OK... if anyone cares, what was wrong with the car(i got it back yesterday) was the one bad fuel injector, and the balance shaft belt was broken. That is what was causing all the jerking. I luckily didnt have any fires start because of the injector! But now the car is back and running better then it ever has. I had all the belts replaced, Balance, Timing, and alternator belts...so, thank you for all your help!
