Re-Install New Head Gasket?

After "thoroughly" cleaning my block after cylinder reconditioning (with AN-30 silicon paste), then getting the crank, crank girdle, pistons, and cylinder head installed...I'm now finding what looks like a very small amount of AN-30 residue, on the "waffle pattern" surfaces of the lower oil gallery spaces. When I rub a solvent-saturated Q-tip on one of these areas, I'm seeing a few very small black bits...and when I rub these bits over a clean, flat machined aluminum surface, I'm seeing some very slight scratches - just enough to keep me awake at night...envisioning my once beautiful engine chewing its guts out in short order due to my ineptitude.

So I'm considering taking everything back apart to re-clean the block...which of course involves removing the cylinder head. Big question is: after re-cleaning the block, can I re-install the previously torqued but otherwise brand new head gasket? I'll probably give Mike at Lindsey Racing a call on this later today, but in the meantime I thought I'd ask here. Thanks!

Ha! Second time I've answered my own post!

I ended up pulling the girdle, noticing that no staining appeared up in the vertical oil galleys (which I'd sealed off prior to my cylinder refresh) - so I then spent the morning cleaning every bit of staining that I could see - on the lower galley surfaces as well as the small amounts which remained inside the block around the cylinder bores. I now believe that all is well...and with the girdle now re-glued and re-torqued - I look forward to getting a good nights sleep!
