Head gasket replacement update

Well, it's down to the block and looking pretty good. A couple of misc problems, but nothing that can't be taken care of. I suspected it was the head gasket leaking, but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at it.
Couple of things. Where could i find a pin spanner to get the balance shaft sprockets off? I know there's a porsche tool, but it's a bit spendy for something i'll use once. Haynes says there's a "widely available" universal pin spanner, but i've yet to find one.
Also what's the best way of extracting a broken bolt? One of the intake manifold to head bolts broke and i have about a 1cm stud sticking out of the top of the head.
What bolts should i replace? Should i go ahead and get some good new cam tower bolts? I've heard they tend to stretch.
I'm replacing the front seals as well. Anything else i should go ahead and replace?
That's it for now.

Edit: Part number for Item #15 on page 944.05 (fuel rails/system page)? Mine's split and i need to replace

Re: Head gasket replacement update

Cam tower bolts should not stretch, but you will mostly likely have a problem w/the cam tower seal. Porsche "updated" to a thinner gasket that seems to be more problematic. I recommend a thin layer of either "Porsche glue" (AKA Loctite 574), or yamabond #4. Go to your local yamaha dealer for the latter, Porsche dealer for the former. The 574 may be available elsewhere. Apply on both sides of the gasket prior to installation, and let it sit for a couple of minutes. The bolts should be fine to re-use.

I would spray PB blaster or a similar lubricant around the broken bolt on the head, tap it a few times with a light/hard hammer and let it sit for a few hours. Repeat a couple of times, then grap the part that's sticking out w/a vice grip.

I use the old belt around the pulleys to keep them in position.

Consider replacing your water pump at this point, all the rollers, etc.

sorry, looking at the pelican parts page. It's a molded vacuum hose with 3 oulets that sits under the intake manifold.

I would consider replacing the water pump and all the pulleys and whatnot, but ive checked the pulleys and they all spin quietly and the water pump has never given me problems.

On a side note, that thermostat snap ring is a pain so i had to fashion a pair of angled pliers as snap ring pliers. Thank goodness for my bench grinder!
