power

Why is it that sometimes it feels like there's tons of power being delivered from my 944, and sometimes it feels more sluggish? As we all know, when the air is cool and dry, the cars pull better... why is this? Just curious.

you have something going wrong. Mayby your 02 sensor. Cooler air is more dense, so you are, in effect, getting more air into your combustion chamber.

depends on how much magic is in the air.
higher concentration of magic=more power. porsche recommends at least 41% magic but as we all know, some days thats not possible.

Oh man...this is sooo true. I have the same problem. Out here in LA it is usually around 35% magic. At night it usually gets to about 39%. I would like to get a magic injection...but it is hard to come by bottled magic. Every now and then it jumps to about 46%...but i am not tuned for that high..and run alittle rich on magic. In all fairness...the Air is more dense...therefor more O2 in the intake...so the car futs more fuel in there...and more air + more fuel...add a little PFM...and BAM...more power

the power difference is never very huge, but at night vs. during the day, the 944 just seems to have more "go"

Cool, dry air is more dense than warm, moist air, which means more oxygen per unit volume of air. The extra oxygen alone doesn't help you though, what is helping you get a little more power is that the injection system is sensing the extra oxygen and is injecting more fuel to compensate. More fuel = more power.

Also higher the % of humidity in the air ingested by the engine, cooler it will burn, yielding less power. If your engine temperature, oxygen, or air intake temperature (in the air flow meter) are malfunctioning, there may be a bigger difference of power made between two different times the car's driven.

Depends on how much coffee you've drunk.
