brake rotors
The brakes pulsate when applied. I think the front rotors are warped, they are thin and I doubt I can turn them. Can the brake pads be reused they seem to have been replaced recently and still have alot of material on them? Thanks.

The recommendation is to always start new rotors with new pads. But I have done otherwise and have gotten away with it. I used the brakes very gingerly for several days until you see the entire rotor being swept by them. Braaaaakkkke very lightly for the first 100 miles or so.
Just my opinion here. See what others say. |

i've done several brake jobs on Porsches and i can offer any assistance you need. we did the full pads and rotors on our 1984 944 for $90... including shipping! that included new rotors, pads (mintex), and chemicals.
not hard to do, feel great when you do it yourself and save $$$$ too. obin |

Obin, where did you get your rotors from? I'm getting ready to do my fronts and I don't want to spend alot of money on them.

You can get ATE Powerdisc slotted rotors for around $100 from Partsheaven (800-767-7250). ATE, I believe makes OEM brake parts for 944's. I've had mine on for several months and have been very happy with them.
Ooops, I forgot to say check with Pelican first, after all they are sponsoring this site. [This message has been edited by Oi-Punx (edited 09-06-2000).] |
