Fun!

Got a beater 951, transferred plastic tank, drivetrain and suspension. Should run soon!

So you are stuffing a 951 turbo engine in a 924? Now thats pretty interesting. When you get it running, take a video of it, it want to hear that motor! FF

Sir Rasta,

This is still one of my favorite cars and the one I use as inspiration for my project:

Please show us more of this new project.

best, John

This should be fun!

Does your 924S have a black interior?

Two tone, tan and mocha. Amazingly, 924 interior matches the sport seats from the donor 951.

So fast, so smooth. With all the resources I sank into my 931, I could have built two of these. . .

Awesome, just love it. Vision and competence.

What does it have for suspension and brakes?

Been away from this forum for years and I come back to see a project like this...

Makes me remember why I loved this place. Amazing project. Looks like a huge amount of fun.

Rasta, what all was needed for the plastic tank swap? I may be getting an 82 931 and will probably need to do this in the future as well.

I wrote up the swap on the 924 board. Doing it on an early car would require more bravery, because the mounting holes for the tank straps and late crossmember are not present on the early chassis.

Totally doable with rivet nuts or similar, but not as easy as with a 924S.

Also, verify your gearbox has the mounting holes for the single, center trans mount, or you'll need to get a late gearbox as well.

Thanks for the info. I'd eventually like to find a turbo gearbox and TT for my build, if this car I'm getting cannot run, it'll be swapped with an Audi 20vt. I have one I am removing from my black s6, already rs2 spec so 360hp in this light chassis would be a blast.
