Yes!!!! It is running!!
I finished getting my car back together today. and.....
It is running! yes yes yes. WOooooo hooooo! (it was to dark to celebrate outside, so I have to vent here.) What I took out and cleaned/ replaced/ modifed 1) Fuel distributor 2) Air sensor 3) Intake manifold 4) Charcoal filter 5) Fuel filter 6) Oil change 7) Coolant change 8) New, bigger throttle body 9) Removed EGR 10) Removed Air pump 11) Flushed crank breather. All this and I have still spent less then $250 TOTAL for the car. (that includes purchase price.) It still needs work, but now I can rest. The cold start valve is most likely bad, but I can get one of those pretty soon for cheap. The first three times or so you give it a crank, it has a hard time; it dies if you hit the gas. Now I get to move on to the electrical side of things, and do more work on the body, such as priming. I have some reservations about the desicion to ground the gas pump off of the rear of the car, on the wrong side of the car, farther down the wire from the place where the pump line diverges from the harness. That caused some consternation when I went to start it and was not getting fuel as far as the filter. This is the stuff funny stories are made of.:D Last, but not least, I NEED to thank all of you guys. I am now very comfortable working on my car. Much thanks for all of your good advice and support! Looks like I am around to stay for a while...... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/04252003p.jpg |

Good job and nice price. How did you stumble across the 924 for cheap $$$?
|
A guy at work was getting rid of it, he wants to auto-x and got a CRX instead. An interesting choice, but I am not complaining .

good job! its always nice to have a car that runs :) that is a cool color also, I like Porsches that are blue.

Great job - I use to have a 924 and loved it.
