Arrow I Saw One

Yesturday I was driving back to a kid's house with the right tools to take off a Jeep's top (he decided to use an allen wrench with a torks (sp?) screw...he isn't the brightest) and I got about 2 blocks from his house and I saw the Porsche's newest "ugly" thing. Yes, it was the new Cayenne. I melted in the seat, and then I just stared. To be honest with you...they aren't near as hidious in life as they are in pictures. BUT (I'm probably wrong) I'm under the understanding that they haven't been released yet, is that right?

The Cayenne is here in Pittsburgh at the dealerships in full effect. They strike me as so "soccer mom" and have an outside resemblance to a number of other SUVs out there. I'd even be willing to bet that a few of us actually saw one without realizing what it was. Just sort of blends in, IMHO.

What is it with everyone making SUVs these days?

I saw one yesterday for the first time as well - It looks pretty plane but it looks like it was meant to get down to business with the HUGE vent holes in the bumper cover. I mean HUGE vent holes.

I read an article about them somewhere and they are seriously fast - If I remember correctly the stock engine is well over 300HP and the optional turbo is over 400. Just what every soccer mom needs, more power.

Besides the HUGE vent holes in the bumper, it looks pretty plane. The hood kinda reminds me of a Sante Fe.

Gearhead290... they're here in the Puget Sound region, too. We're
trying to entice one/some out to the track to play with us amongst
the cones. The dealer near me says about half the owners are new
to the Porsche marque. Maybe we'll see an autoX-er run one!

I saw one last week driving up I-81 in VA. There were a bunch of them at the Hershey swap meet too.

All of you guys are spoiled, there isn't a Porsche dealer within roughly 3 hours of here.

Frank, you had better make sure that I never catch a spelling mistake out of you...I WILL RUB IT IN YOUR FACE UNTIL THE DAY YOU DIE!

I still have not seen one yet... I would like to though. I have seen a few of the new Acura suv's and at first thought that they might be a the Cayenne (mostly because they are both newish) but then realized they werent. Those Acura's look pretty darn ugly to me.... anyone else seen them?

The dealer i goto in CT has about ...5 or 6 Cayennes. I check them out everytime i go. They seem alright but they dont have the same exotic look as all the other porsches out there.

I saw a white countach last night. It was pretty sweet. I passed by him and he gave me this weird why are you looking me look then i gave him back the same look.

Just got notification from the factory that they are adding a performance upgrade kit to the Cayenne S.

Taking it over 500 HP

Seen a few already, they are pretty, don't know if it is worth what they want for it.

Perfornamce upgrade already? Over 500hp? Sweeeeeeeeet!! Go Porsche! Even their SUV kicks arse. It would be fun to see a horsepower war start among the SUV manufacturers. Next, BMW should shove the V-10 from the next-gen M5 into their X5 model. And Mercedes can install one of their twin-turbo engines into an M-Class. And yes, the companies will sell every single one of 'em!

for the S?

Wouldn't that go past the Turbo's HP? Wouldn't that also piss off a lot of Turbo owners?
