CV bolt plates

In my haste to find the cause of a knock under load that just developed I removed both axles without marking the orientation. The bolt plates are different on each end, can someone tell me if the tranny or wheel end gets the larger bolt plate. Car is a 87 951. TIA

Per the workshop manual, the bigger plates go on the outer/hub side and the smaller plates go on the inner/transmission side.

Volume 3 - Chassis Section 42 page 10. 42 - 10
