i am horrified

i finally did a thorough cleaning of the interior this saturday (i thought I was a poor owner for waiting 2 months before cleaning it). i couldnt believe what i found. change, long girl hair and dog hair, parts of a training manual from fudruckers (or some such resaurant), drill bits, and the worst: a small pack of claritin tabs expiring in 2000!!!! as in car probably hasnt been cleaned for 4-5 YEARS.
i am appalled.

WHEN I CLEANED OUT MINE LAST YEAR AFTER BUYING IT I FOUND BOTH COAT HANGER COVERS FOR THE BACK SEAT AREA, A COVER FOR THE DRIVER'S SEATBACK HINGE, ABOUT 20 COINS, OLD FRENCH FRIES, A CIGARETTE BUTT, AND A FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER LODGED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT BETWEEN THE FENDER WELL AND THE WINDSHEILD WASHER RESERVOIR.

YOU COULD EAT OFF ANY PART OF MY CAR NOW.

When i took out the seats to do a really good cleaning, i found $53 under the driver seat!!!! along with like 5 checks written in 1986, tons of change trash, coins etc. So i guess you could technically say i didnt pay $3100 for the car, i payed $3047 for it!!!

When i picked up my '83 I found:

About $4.00 in change
Bank Statements
Cell Phone Charger
Business Cards
Old Starter
Two Steak Knives (in battery bin)
Rolled up pair of black sweatpants
sockets
bolts
ciggies
and much, much more!!!

It's the steak knives and rolled up sweatpants that got me worried....

paulc: please turn the caps off: your yelling is hurting my ears!

The only potentially 'useful' item I found in my car were credit card receipts with the complete number on them. hehe...

No, I destroyed them, and forgot the number.

I found two pairs of pink panties (used/unwashed) which I saved, 7 condoms (unused thank God), a small half drank bottle of peach schnoppes, 3 pages from a porno magazine, 4 cigarettes, $19, and Jimmy Hoffa's head.

Red face

When I cleaned mine for the first time I found about 3.00 in change a couple of business cards PO not mine and a SHOTGUN SHELL!!! Handed it in to the police, but was worried that it could have discharded under some 'spirited driving' not least how I would have explained it if I had been stopped and searched by traffic police.

Hey S-21,
all that stuff in the car???? You "when i picked up my 83"....does that mean you bought it? Sounds kinda like you jacked it.(kidding)

My 83's first cleaning found most of the broken plastic parts from the interior, tools - some from the factory kit-, and various bits and pieces from the cars journey's.

All those parts gave me hope...I'm currently searching under the seats for a copy of the factory manuals.

"Handed it in to the police,"

Why? It's only a shotgun shell...

HAHAHA... I found a whole pack of "be all you can be" bumper stickers. I wanted to take them onto a Canadian base that was near by and put it on all of the military vehicles.
