Which way does this go?
 

Took off my timing belt crank gear to get to replace the front seal and now I can't remember which way this goes back on. Google seems to show me pictures of it both ways. Picture hopefully attached for reference.

Engine is an 86 btw (tensioner arm version)

You have it right

flange side out
if the flange were towards the oil pump it would jam and not be able to rotate once the bolt is torqued...btdt
