I just finished repairing my 944s that I bought with Chain tensioner failure. I was driving through the Neighborhood when it stalled. There were no indicators light nor did the gauges work. I cycled the key, and nothing. It would crank and windows lights radio and a\c blower worked, but no start. Then after several minutes every thing came back on and it started right up. Is it the ignition switch.? The wiring diagrams seem to indicate so.

Glad you got the repairs completed, your problem does sound like a bad DME relay. They are known to go bad at the worst possible times too (like a service call... heh)

Don't know how old the relay is but it is not original. I unplugged it to see what it causes. It did not start but my indicator lights still worked, which make me wonder if the ignition switch is bad. Also I tried wiggling the harnesses under the hood and the dash, no stall but now my airbag light and seat belt lights are on. I have been studying the wiring diagrams but there a little confusing compared to what I am used to. I guess I will look at it again tomorrow.
