low oil pressure
Last night I was running in higher rpms in 4th gear trying to not get lost from a bunch of people and when we finally got off the highway the low oil light would flicker when I would come to a stop or something like that. I noticed that my oil pressure at cruise was around 2-3. I didn't take notice of what it was at idle. Normally it is around 4-5 and 2-3 at idle. Once I got to my destination I checked my oil and it was only 1/2 quart low. I ordered oil filters last night so I can change my oil this week. What else should I do?

That would depend on what oil you're running, what do you have in there now?

Stray that oil is too thin, try some 10W40, if your using castrol i would try Valvoline, I have had viscosity breakdown with the castrol stuff in a few different cars, the valvoline never did breakdown , I change oil every 3000 miles and the filter as well ,use a factory oil filter.
The 944 engine has a weak link this is the #2 rod bearing journal, seems that when spinning at hi RPM with hot thin oil the centifugal force is enough to overcome the oil pump pressure, and oil distribution is lost to that journal...So...... good oil, keep revs under 5000 grand continuous operation, and if you do lose oil pressure and the new oil didnt change anything replace the rod bearings ASAP. I think it is Huntly racing that adds a few additional oil holes to the crank journals, this lets the centrifugal fotce push the oil out to the rod bearing surface , and viola no more oil starvation related failures.....Stan

It's just breakdown, really as suggested try the 20W 50. You should be getting some warmer weather soon anyway. If you're running synthetic then you shuld remember from previous posts that they tend to run a bit leaner than the container advertises.

I just switched from 10W30 to 20W50 and the there is a big difference. The heat has started up here in Texas and the 10W30 just couldn't cut it.
