Porsche Crest Hey Todd, did you know your car's picture is here?

Can't miss those wheels, this is you car at the german autofest right?

http://www.pelicanparts.com/swapmeet_pics/German_AutoFest_02/HTML/Page-307.htm

One of the guy's here at work made the mistake of asking me about Porsches (after two big cups of French roast... uh... and for those who don't know French roast coffee does not come from France)
So I regale him with the history of...
Volkswagen wanted a sports car so they went across the street and asked Porsche to design something but when Porsche made their presentation to Volkswagen they decided to pass on the deal so Porsche bought the car and sold as the 924 in the seventies then they added the 924 turbo for a little more performance then in 1982 they came out with my car the 944 which had fender flares and a "real" 2.5 Porsche engine oh by the way the original 924 used some Volkswagen and Audi parts to hold down cost then in 1986 they came out with the 944 turbo that had 220 horsepower and then in 1989 the came out with the 968 which is the same as the 944 only completely different anyway while I'm rambling on I bring up the Pelican picture gallery so I can show him all the different Porsche models and what do I see but what I believe is Todwic's car!

I'd love to talk some more but I have to go make more coffee!!!!

The 968 came out in late 91 as a 92 model not in 89. The turbo S is practically all Porsche. Turbo and late 85+ later cars have quite a bit fewer VW parts in them.

So my question is...wasn't Porsche made first. So wouldn't VWs be Porsche's and not the other way around?

I mean I remember seeing Porsche tanks n stuff. Just a question

Whew! All is right with the world, I rattled that all off with such reckless abandon I was sure there were some mistakes.

But then I figured what the heck I'll post it anyway as the Saturday quiz and see how many errors you guys could pick out.

Let's see... so was 1989 the first year for the 944S2?

And I only referenced the 924 as to having some VW/Audi parts,
I hope the tread is interpreted as being more comical than informative!

The whole VW-Audi thing has been beat to death don't you think?

Hey Goku, nice to see ya, where you been hiding?

I've been hiding at work. And just got married in January. My p-car is sitting at my house with the clutch on the floor waiting for me to actually replace the mater/slave I ordered. But my hanes manual has been barried in the move. No clue where it is at. And have no idea how to do it . I usually look at the forums but I'm not smart enough to help ppl .

Anyways...yeah. n stuff. Work is boring.

When I got my car from the guy who owed me money, he didn't have the title. No biggee, we sent for one, well, it came back as an S2. I asked someone about this, and they had no explanation for the S2 title designation, any takers on this one? My insurance co, said that if the vin says it's an S2 then it is an S2. I don't think that it is because nothing else on the car designates it being an S2. So, somebody in the chain of people that it takes to generate a title, sucks.
