<944> Rekeying and Relocking?

I find that a VIN-cut key does not match the locks on my 87 944 NA. The owner before the PO changed some locks around. I would like to rekey the entire car to match. 2 doors, ignition and hatch.

Anyone have any experience?

On Bimmers, you can buy a kit that keys the lock cylinder to your key for around $20. With a new VIN-cut key and such rebuilt cylinders you have all-new locks for very little money.

Point of interest.

My '86 944 n/a didn't have a driver side door handle when I bought it. I got a used door handle and found that my original ignition key works in the replacement lock!

I wonder how many other cars have similar locks and keys?
