So,... I told you guyz that another Porsche enthusiast let me work on his car?
Yup! It was my friend but still. I help him change the belts and rollers on his car. Let m tell you,... it alot better working on a car with someone else. Working alone is boring. Anyways, the engine compartment of a 951 is JAMMED PACKED!!! LORDY! But still very cool. We changed all the belts and rollers and got the car running. He was somewhat nervous about he job but I wasn't
 That car started right up. I'll be back there in 1,500 miles to retension his belts. Also he has an exhuast leak down by the turbo that we are going to fix. He wants me there YEEHAA!!!

overkill, if someone wants you down by the exhaust leak, don't fall for that old trick, he's trying to (over) kill you

Overkill, do you have the tensioning tool? If not, how do you gauge it?

overkill, can you post a good pix of the p tool, so i know what it is if i ever accidentally see one at an auction or tool sale?

Here is my tensioning tool and calibration bar. If and when I sell the car I will be selling this tool along with a flywheel lock and a roller locking bar. If my friend doesn't buy it off me then it's up for grabs. All four tools $500. Thats like 130 something dollars less if you were to purchase them yourself.

Cool,... notice in the picture,... the needle says 4.0
It's amazing how accurate and precise a good auto tensioner can be. The spring on his auto tensioner was a bit weak but with the locking bar I tightened the belt a bit more, turned the engine over twice, and then the cam gear back 1.5 teeth and bang 4.0 Amazing.
