Low Fuel Light

Thought I would post how I tested my 1985.5 NA fuel low light bulb. Checked Clarks-Garage page and while there is a great write up on the gauge, no procedure on the light. Found the schematic and used it. At the fuel sender connection in the hatch area, the sender connector has 3 wires (brown, green, gray/white stripe). Brown is ground, gray/white stripe is the connection to the low fuel light in the instrument panel. To test, remove the connection on the sender, turn on the key, then use a jumper at the wired connector to connect the gray/white stripe wire to the brown wire. You should see the light illuminate at the bottom of the fuel gauge. This does not test the sender functionality. That would need to be tested by running the tank low or pulling the sender out of the tank.
