931 is such a cool car. Rasta’s former Fjord/Navy blue one is one that got me into my 924S.
(I realize Fjord was a BMW color. Not sure of the correct Porsche name … Glacier Blue, maybe?) John |

it will be (almost) a cakewalk if you restored a pre-galvanized 911. I didn't have any repair manuals. i found almost all my information on Clarks-garage.com, rennlist 944 forums, pelicanparts forums, and Lindsey Racing's website. |
Seems my 924 turbo has a bad clutch…
Haven’t studied any repair manuals yet but Whats involved Engine out ? Also my budget for more HP is $3000 Would like some ideas Thanks Frank |
That's a can of worms. Best way to increase power is to increase boost, which is made easier by the addition of an intercooler. Good chance this will lead to head gasket failure, though.
Clutch could be an opportunity to pull the motor, reseal all leaks, replace the HG with a performance unit, and rebuild the turbo. Ceramic coatings help as well. Having been down this road (931 owner for 15 years) I can tell you that there's nothing cheap about hot rodding one of these cars. It is a long and painful process. I wish I had just started with my 2.5 engine swap. |
Sounds like that process might nit fit the budget ….
Guess will need to find the issues with engine out and investigated Been reading that fiberglass panels for gts or gt are not the best solution due to cracks Mine will not be raced but spirited driving for sure . Are poly panels better any recommendations Thanks Frank |
