Sensor Idenfication

Can anyone help me identify a sensor under the intake manifold on my 1989 944 S2? You can see it circled in red in the picture I attached:


I can see the wiring harness for is not in good shape, and I'm going to try and repair it soon to see if it can help resolve some running problems I'm having.

In front, I see the engine temperature sensor. Behind it and to the left, I can see one of the knock sensors. This view is from the front of the engine, straight in under the intake manifold.

That is the connector for the coolant temperature gauge.

Oh, that's where that is... well shoot. My coolant gauge actually works. I was hoping this might have to do with some misfire issues I've been having. It's probably still worth going in and cleaning up that wire harness a bit just the same.
