I ran into this guy at a car show a few years back, he details the building of a working replica of the car from "The Road Warrior." He did a great job.
http://www.lastinterceptor.info/historybot7.html But to add P-car content to this all you would need to do is convert your NA to an LT1 and supercharge it from there. Then you could have the gigantic Weiand blower sticking out the top of the hood.

The roof top spoiler on the intercepter is a good idea for our 944's. Does not have to be that tall. An inch high right angle piece of material will do the simple job of tripping the air and getting it to such down on the rear hatch.

You should probably know that the actual blower in the movie was fake.

Indeed , there was a carburator inside the hollowed out blower chamber, the font blower pulley was driven by an electric motor under a yellow cover that can be see in the first MadMax movie.
They say that and "on/off" blower setup would not have worked on the 351 block due to compression issues.
