weird smell in cabin...
i have this strange smell in my 87' 944 that i can't identify.
i know it's not exhaust it's not armorall stuff it's not smoke it's not cleaner it smells like some sort of engine fluid stuff i went around im my garage and opened all my bottles and smelled them to see if any of them matched: anti-freeze: nope brake fluid: nope oil: nope power steering fluid: nope carpet cleaner: nope armorall: nope leather cleaner/conditioner: nope wax: nope what is this smell? well, i was looking around under the dash where the steering column and pedal linkages are because i had to jimmy the A/C fuse which had wiggled loose and i noticed that the clutch cylinder had a couple of drops of fluid ready to drip from it. so this is brake fluid (they use the same resiviour), but the smell doesnt smell much like brake fluid but this is my best bet so far. any ideas about how to remove smells? im tired of being light-headed every morning while going to work... |

I bet the smell is the smell of the anti-freeze going through the cycle of the engine, and then blowing out through the vents when you have them on.
