i think its money well spent, you get a nice magazine, attend pca events, and personally if I was buying or selling a car the pca member means something to me. (ie involved, cared for the car) my .02

The reason I bought a Porsche when I wanted a sports car was because of the club. Lots of track time.

I belong to PCA. Found a LOT of folks are nice, but there are quite a few "purists" as well that make the old joke about what is the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine so true. Don't attend many events or meetings, but I do enjoy reading Pano magazine.

Lots of 944/951 guys in my region. It's cool to talk to people that really speak your language when it comes to cars. At any event I've been to I haven't had anyone give me the "it's not a real porsche" crap. So far, it's been all good.

I'm a member. I like the people but as with all groups you like some better than others. I am a member of 4 car clubs. From my experience, the club that has the most jerks is the Mercedes Club. PCA people are among the nicest in the region of the country where I reside.

Yo mama... As a PCA member I've found mostly good folks here; all 'barrels' (of people) have some screwballs, whackos and bores. You soon recognize them and avoid them. The events, literature, freely given knowledge, and national camaraderie more than compensate for the 'downside'. Good-natured, open-handed people that share good times, car tips and sociability. They don't seem to mind when we watercoolers bad mouth the ugly Porsches. We'll probably welcome Cayennes, too; after all, the badge up front is the same. M'reel

I'm a member. as well as a member of the board of govenors in my region. I'm also a "track tech co-chair." PCA is an awesome club: they offer lots of opportunities for things like Driver's Ed -Track time, club racing, autocross, rally. concours...etc. It is well worth the $$ you spend. Just my $0.42. -Zoli.

I am a member. Actually I am the Membership Chair for my region. My wife is the newsletter editor. Great club, good friends. It helps if your club is active. Ours is VERY active.

I have only done one event with my local PCA (a cruise throught the country) but It seems like it is an alright deal. Every one seems to be quite nice and really like their p-cars, but they all seem to be pretty old in my area. There is an age gap of about 20 - 30 years between me and the other people in the PCA, it makes things a bit weird for me. I have not done any track events yet, but I am hoping that when I get around to doing them that being part of the PCA will make things easier.

We finally attended our first Oregon PCA event. It was tour to the Evergreen Aviation Musuem. The museum is the current home of Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose (I believe it holds the record for the largest plane ever built...and it was immense!) The 1- hour drive was great. There were some 30 Porsches in the tour. Evveryone was very friendly. The tour ended with an afternoon jaunt to try out some of the local wineries. We certainly recommend the PCA to everyone! P/S. We visited a fellow PCA member who just happened to live a few miles from us. Check this out....he has a 951, 952, 968, 914, and a 5-ton lift in his garage. All the cars were fully restored. Man, I wish I had some of his toys!

I joined, and it keeps me informed of events like DEs and autoX stuff. And they just sent me the $100 off coupon (must use at dealer). What parts should I use it for? It expires end of June I think.

 I found this interesting. The list of cars owned by new members in my region: '03 Boxster '03 Boxster S '65 356 C '90 911 C4 '87 944 n/a (2 new members) '67 912 '89 944 Turbo (guess who) '95 993 A pretty diverse group of new members, huh?

I'm one of the newest additions to the riverside region. I attended my first dinner last thursday, and also participated in the Poker Run this passing Saturday. All the guys/gals in my local PCA are nothing but nice kind folk who are into their cars and can get involved with others who share the same interests. My only gripe is that everyone has at least 30 years on me. Being 19, i'm definitely the youngest. That's quite a frightening age gap :-\
