Need a little help on parts ID

Doing timing belt etc after disassembly I found these two on the ground under the engine compartment. Anyone recognize them and where they go?

I have never seen those on a 83 924 with a viper v10 conversion. At least I am assuming that is the car you are working on.

Those look like oil pan gasket spacers - many of which are used to prevent uneven compression of the oil pan gasket. Not sure what these would be doing on the floor after a timing belt job...but what was the "etc." in your post?

There are similar looking spacers associated with the radiator...but at least on my '87NA 944 these (if I remember correctly) are made of rubber. Those do tend to pop out and roll around on the floor when removing the radiator.

Cannot think of any rollers they might be associated with...Hmmm.

There are spacers in the timing belt cover. I think that they are brass with a serrated edge. Perhaps the PO lost a couple of those spacers and replaced them with these? Do you have all the spacers in the cover?

Could be from this.

Or it could be a spacer behind the rotor. Or could be a spacer from the fuel rail. Or could be a spacer from the airbox. Or an upper spacer for the timing belt cover. Or someone just tossed some random parts under the car.

It would be easier if we knew if it was a 924/931/924S/944/951/944S/944S2/968.

Great!

You should have three spacers behind your rotor. Are all three there? 8v motors have a different rotor.

I believe there are some spacers that hold on the magnesium cover, if you hold it back in place, you will see if you are missing any.

Did you remove the fuel rail?

It is raining now, but I will go take a look at my S2 tomorrow and see if I see anywhere else they may be from.
