Best Spark Plugs For A 944
I have an '87 944s. I'm getting ready to get a tune up in the next couple of weeks. I have been searching the net and talking to local dealers trying to figure out what the best plugs & wires are for the car. I have seen some good stuff on Bosch +4 plugs, but just as much bad stuff. The same goes for SplitFire Triple Platinums. As far as the wires, I have found some nice Beru wires (oem factory) and Bosch. Are Split Fires prone to as many problems as people say? Do Bosche Platinums really have problems overheating the engine? Are the factory Beru wires better than the Bosch after market? Anyone ever had an experiences with any of these products? Am I overlooking some other good manufacturer(s)?

Oh, and does anyone know if the 944s would have the same problems with heat on platinum plugs as would the turbo?

I had +4's in my 951 and could tell no difference. I since found out not to use them in the turbo so I put them in my na 944 that I drive daily. Wow, I could feel a difference as soon as I pulled out.
I tested it at a place where I could go from 40 to 70 at a certain marker and with the +4's it would go from 40 to 73 at the same spot. I tried it several more times and 73 every time. It was always 70 on the nose every time before. |
