lazy headlights

the problem is my head lights wont go up. I can see the light shooting at the ground so i know there on, and i put in new headlight fuse and i flip the switch and nothing. its not like the motor is struggling either it worked fine before, so what could it be? any suggestions to cure my problem??

another weird thing, if the switch is on, and I pull to flash the brights, while i am pulling the lights will come up. But if I am not pulling on the lever the lights go out and they stop coming up dead in their tracks. This seems like a unique problem and is leaving me puzzled.....

Motor relay?

944play 05-12-2003 09:08 PM

Do you mean the headlight washer realy? Or is there a relay strictly for the headlight motor?? if there is a headlight motor relat, where is it?

thanks

is it just me... or do my headlights (when up) just shine more on the ground under me than the ground in front of me? I have to drive with the foglights on to see the ground ahead...

on the headlight motor, wiggle the connections with the switch on and the key on, see if they pop up.

I had that. It was the headlight motor relay. Cost like $10.

There are aiming adjustment screws for the headlights, their locations are in the owner's manual. I had to adjust my headlights up a little bit when I first got my car. Really easy to do except that the screws are hard to turn because they have probably never been adjusted before.

Regarding the relay, yes there is a relay strictly for the headlight motor. On my '87 924S that relay is mounted directly beside the motor under the rubber cover that also covers the motor. I would assume that it's in the same place on the 944.
