				I got a wave!

Well, sort of. I went past a guy in a 911T on the way to work. He looked over and smiled and gave a nod. Of course, I was waving. The best part was when he first noticed me. Talk about a classic double-take. It was pretty cool. This is the first time in five years of owning porsches that I got acknowledged by a fellow p-car driver, that wasn't in a 944 series car himself.

I wave and flash my lights at all Porsches. Most of the time no one waves back. It's cool...they probably think I am a freak or something.

I've definitly gotten more love from 911 drivers than boxsters. In fact, I've yet to have a conversation with a boxster owner. 944 drivers here are great. At a stoplight next to one, guy in a pre 85.5 944 practically got out of his car in the intersection to say whats up. And I haven't seen a 928 outside of PCA meetings once.

I always get a wave from the guy in a Black 911 Targa. That's just because he's my brother. I get waves quite a bit for older 911 owners because they know that the 944 is a Porsche. Boxster guys just don't comprehend that there are other Porsche models out there besides their's.

There's a beautiful pearl white 911 in town that always waves. He's the guy I bought the 944 from.

Most boxster owners here are like early 30's or late 50's. The younger boxster owners dont seem to notice that a 944 is IN FACT a porsche. I had a boxster owner follow me for a little while to read the rear deck, and confirm that it is, in fact, a porsche. Even then giving the wave and a hello, he ignored me! His girlfriend was nice though, she said hi. But, on the other hand, most other 928 and 911 owners i have seen on the road have smiled and waved and/or flashed. And to them, i kindly pay my respect.

typically i find that the drivers of new Porsches don't wave and don't even know about the wave... it's the drivers of 20 year old 911s and 944s, and 25 year old 914s that take the time and effort to wave/flash
