Question cookie wheels

Could somebody please tell me or give me an url of the history of the cookie wheels ?

I belive that some 911 had this wheels, do this was a porsche option ? over the fuchs and the basic wheels ?

Do the 911 cookie wheels are the same (offset,backspace) ?

what about the sizes ?

the 911 cookie wheels are 6 inches 74-83

944 cookie are 7" 82-85

I don`t know, but I believe that exist a cookie cutter wheels in 8" but do this wheels are oem or aftermarket ?

let me know

thanks and regards

Most tire/wheel stores here in the states have the "Hollander" book that gives all the vital stats. You may find a larger retailer there in Acapulco that might have one.

Thanks for your answer

I really don`t need it the backspace,etc measures, I only want to know the history.

All the time I believe that the cookie cutters are 944 wheels and some 911 had it. but searching in the pet I found that are 911 wheels and later are used in the 944 model.

About the 8", I`m curious because I can`t found it in the pet, but I know that exists but maybe are aftermarket ?

You might call Wheel Enhancements in LA. Possibly CUlver City. They specialize in Porsche wheels and usually can answer phone questions.

Some 911s used the cookie cutters as the base wheel with 6" front and 7" rears. Fuchs were an option that most 911s had. 944s used 7" all the way around. As far as I know, those are the only two sizes of factory cookie cutters- 15x6 and 15x7.

I saw some CC at a Porsche swap meet that were at least 8" possably 9" or even "10. They may have been aftermarket, I didn't dare look at them because I was afraid I would buy them!
