need help!!! 1986 turbo needle level

where should this needle read? a 944 turbo i might buy has the needle at about .75 and goes up to about 1.5 at 4000 rpms in first gear. is that low? a different one i was looking to buy was just about pegged at 2 right from the get go.

I thought they were set at about 1.8 at full boost - factory setting? They fall off at higher rpms but under 4K they should be there.

I agree with Lawrence because my '86 951 is totally stock (unless the previous owner put a chip in it but I'm pretty sure he didn't) and it goes to 1.8 and always has.
1.5 on the meter would be half a bar or about 7.5 lbs boost. Everything I have ever read says the 951 has 12lbs boost stock which would be .8 bar or 1.8 on the meter.

Garage
If it is a stock gauge, it can't be trusted. One of the upgrades I am doing to my car this winter is installing a new boost gauge.
