Hi guys, I'm in a heap of trouble. My 924s used to start and drive. But then the timing belt slipped (not on the road, just when working on it) and it wont even crank anymore. I've tripple checked the timing and all I hear is a constant high pitched sewing machine type noise when I try to start it. Another troubling thing is that my brandnew compression testor says I have zero compression on all four cylinders. The meter doesnt even bump when I try to start the car and keep it on for a little bit. I've checked the DME relay and I also get fuel to the rails. I've been at this for months now and I cant seem to figure it out. I know there is a big chance of having bent valves, but would bent valves mean all four cylinders to have zero compression? Any hints or advice would be great. When I start it, it doesnt sound like a normal no start, it sounds like the starter is just free spinning but then all my belts are moving. At this point I'm ready to open it up and see whats wrong on the inside of the engine but I would like to avoid it if I can. I am also in the sacramento CA area and would love to have someone out here that knows the cars to come check out my situation. Any ideas, trusted shops around the area, or people that can help would be great.

Takapoo, what caused you to be working on the timing belt? Were you changing it? When you say you’ve triple checked it, how did you do that?
Tell us more about the sequence of events so we can try to help. Best regards, John

Sounds like bent valves if your camshaft/crankshaft are timed correctly.
Have you checked that the OT and camshaft marks are aligned?
