Lightbulb Intercooler under the air intake on the hood?

Hi guys,

Does the air intake on the hood on a 931 make any thing special?
I thinking of building/installing a small intercooler directly under it and I'm affraid that I will stop the air flow to any thing vital/else?

Any one knows or have a good guess?
Engine air intake is on the other side of the engine so I dont think that that will be a problem!
Cooling he Turbo maybe????

/Martin

I have heard that the NACA duct on the passengers side of the hood is to cool the turbocharger & exhaust manifold. The scoop on the 924 Carrera GT is susposed to be for an intercooler that is mounted over the valve cover, where the intake duct is on our more normal 931s. In the pictures I have seen there is no NACA duct directing air to the turbo on these cars.

What you are thinking of doing seems similar to the Carrea GT. Let us know how it works out, plumbing, parts, etc.

Yeah, thanks.
Hmmm, I think I have changed my mind a little. I talked to some other people and they think that I should mount the intercooler in the front. So I will most probably do that. They said the heat from the exhaust and the turbo wil make it difficult to cool down the intercooler.

Be shore that I will keep you posted.

I'm just know forming a copy of the speaker cover on the dash board. I will make solid one from "plastic" so I can mount turbo gaugh the and maybe even the regulator. The gauge, I will try to get it inset at a ~15 degree angle. I willpaint it in black paint, with low shine!

If the cover gets nice, I will start selling them if any one is intersted in Sweden. The idea is to still have the speaker cover, so that you can mount it back if you dont want use the gauge any more.
