Idle
I just replaced some vacuum hoses and my car now idles slower than it did. It was idling at about 9 but is now at 6-7. Is there some sort of adjustment that I am not aware of?

The idle can be adjusted with a blade screwdriver. There is a threaded plug at the right (passenger) side of the throttle body. Just run the car and adjust accordingly. You'll figure it out.

recheck vacuum hoses.
If you have to adjust factory idle you are putting a band-ade on something else. (the band-ade will fall off eventually)

Fixing a vacuum leak will lower the idle. Vacuum Gremlin is off to visit someone else!

Ahhh huge member dropping wisdom from LA.
That whole drill out, make special tool, rig to adjust the idle has just never set well with me. One thing about the 944, P really thought out the performance of this engine. very few mods are actually necessary. Just fix the broken stuff. Clean sensors, chase leaks, check grounds, tension your belts(he he) AVOID "redneck engineering"

That would be the lambda that hooked to your 02 sensor. Well, they're one in the same. Germans call it Lambda (named after the symbol that kraut engineers us to signify stoichiometric, or ideal air fuel ratio.) we just call em 02 sensors.

unhook it, and turn you idle speed screw (that's why it's there) untill you get the idle yer after. double check and make sure you have no vac. leaks before you monkey with your idle tho. Find a day and come over, I'd be happy to help you out with it, and then you can watch me do the belt thingy.
