Noisy lifters?

Well whenever i give the engine gas now it goes "clickity clickity clickty click" and gets faster as the rpms go up. This is the noisy lifter sydrome? Before it was a very faint click and i could not hear it unless i had the hood open but now i can hear it when im driving. Should i invest in some ATF and clean the sucker out?

Any suggestions on products?

Yes noisy lifters.

Yes ATF, not that big of an investment.

It is possible that you are low on oil or oil pressure check to make sure.

No I wasnt low on oil. I had about a little more then half inbetween the lines but now i filled it up to exactly full and still ticks. I will ATF the sucker soon ....exactly how bad is this for the car to have noisy lifters or is it just a sound problem?

Not sure how much damage you can do, but people drive with them often. I would try to fix it ASAP. You can buy a bottle of stuff at the local auto parts store that you add to the oil. It worked for a freind on his dodge V6.

NO NO NO, injectors do CLICK. Thats normal. Our injectors are very loud. If you can hear your lifters with the hood down and while driving then thats bad. Normally, they should soften out with a little bit of driving. Once the oil works it way in there they usually become very quiet. You might want to try and use a thin oil for awhile or use Juvats ATF/oil mixture for a bit to clean things out and get some lube where lubing is needed.

Thats what I am saying, They also click so don't confuse the sounds as lifters. Not saying the injectors are the noise that is being heard just a second source that makes a similiar sound...Sman

I'd put my money on the injectors, check injector #2 they like to make noise (from what I've heard) then it stops spraying properly, then you get a power loss but you don't realize it right away because you're consumed by the ticking noise. Or your lifters are cruddy and I'm a SnapperHead for posting this.
