Gas tank fuel filler hose cover sealant
I just removed my gas tank. I remover the cover on the inside of the car that covers the fuel filler hose. I thought the sealant was going to be dum dum but it is not. It is rubbery and stretchy. Anyone know what it is?

16 … it’s something pretty funky and, I’d imagine, more on the industrial side, i.e., a product not easily found. As always, I could be wrong. When I put mine back together I used 3M Strip Caulk … dum dum.

Thanks John. I think I'll do that also.

Reminds me of butyl sealing tape, but I really do not know for sure what Porsche used.
