fuel injector hats

I bought a set of fuel injector seal kits for my 87 951 and the plastic hats in the kits are longer then the hats on my injectors. I bought them from Pelican and they said they only carry 1 kit. Has anyone else had this problem? I put the larger hats on but my car is running horribly. My old hats fell apart when I tried to take them off so I couldn't reuse them.

I had that problem. What color are the hats? I got yellow caps from somewhere, I use a sharp drill bit to cut a nice taper in the top of the injector cap to promote a good spray pattern. Here's what I did,...

I gave the new cap a nice taper so the the fuel once shot out of the injector, doesn't hit the hole or side or the hole. Keep in mind that the cap is only to protect the tip of the injector, thats it. I used these modified caps in my "S" and she ran just fine.
