Fuel pump relay year 1977

Hi
I have a problem regarding that my fuel pump relay 477 906 059 are not working anymore, and I cannot find anywhere to buy it. What to do ?? do I have another relay I can use? My car is a 924 from 1977

It looks like you are right... that relay is no longer available. You may get lucky and find a used one at a breaker or dismantler.

In order to get the car running, you may want to install a switch between the socket for pins 30 and 87. That would provide power to the fuel pump, the warm up regulator, and the auxiliary air regulator. (Warning: this will defeat the electronic part of the relay, which is intended to turn off the power to those items in case your engine should stop, i.e. in case of an accident.)

Good luck,

Hi 944 Ecology. Thanks for your reply. I have already maked a switch between pin 30 and 87 with a contact to turn on and off.
But this is not allowed when getting the MOT.
And I have not being able to find it anywhere

I guess the only answer is to keep looking for a used one.

you could use a generic relay and make some jumper wires from the relay socket to a generic relay of the proper amperage using wire and spade terminals. Do you have pictures of the relay socket?

Hi DjNolan

The 47906059 with 6 pins are my old relay, and then I have got a new one with only 4 pins but also a fuse.

After installing the new one with 4 pins, When I turn the key the fuelpump starts, but car don,t.

Question: Does the fuel pump run with the ignition on but engine not running with the old relay?

Actually, looking at the pictures above, that fuse looks like crap. Try cleaning the relay fuse contacts and put in a new fuse.

If that doesn't work, answer the above question and we'll see if we can get your old relay working again, at least for a while.

Hi OriginalOwner

Your right it do look like crap But Donīt seams to be broken, but anyway I followed your advice and replaced it with a new one (Why havenīt I done that before)

And now my Car starts when i turn the key. (the fuel pump dont run when only ignition on, but I donīt think it could that)

I will bleed my brakes and take it for a spin one of the coming days to see if it all works now.

So thanks a lot OriginalOwner, and your other guys who take the time to help me with my problem Nice to have this forum because in Denmark where I`m located we haven`t any.

have a nice day

Holler
