How many of us have disconnected OXS??
It seems real common for people w/ Oxygen sensors to just disconnect them and let the "brain" see the world as stachiometric.
How many of you have disconnected your oxygen sensor??? Is there any possible damage from doing so? Just curious. Nick |

My 85 944 is disconnected -- not by my choice, it was like that when I bought it. I plan to replace it this spring though. I did disconnect my 85 735i on purpose though. It had this strange (very slight but noticable) hesitation under light load in the mid rev range. Disconnecting it did fix it for the most part - I had a leaky injector, which was throwing it off -- once I replaced the injector, I plugged it back in, and it works fine now. Thats the only reason I could see for it. Im still not sure why the 944 was disconnected, because the plugs look great - probably just worn out i guess. It seems to run good w/o it though.

when the oxygen sensor went bad in my VW, it caused the engine to run REALLY hot. i am talking right-below-busting-the-head-gasket HOT! replaced it and the engine ran cool again. the car also didn't run smooth with the bad sensor.
