slave cylinder?

After not starting my 924turbo, 1982 for about six months the clutch pedal is not coming back up. It happened before. I bled the slave cylinder and it worked fine but now this does not work. Any ideas?

If your car is equipped with a clutch master cylinder (attached to the clutch pedal in the engine compartment) you might want to check this out as your culprit. How are you bleeding the system. By hand or with a vaccum bleeder. I use a mityvac brake bleeder kit (29.95) and it works great for brakes and the clutch. Porsche clutches take several times to bleed. At least 2 or three times. If your just replace your slave cylinder, make sure its not a bad one. And if you haven't replaced the clutch master cylinder then do so now. I had the same problem with my 84 944. I replaced the slave cylinder first, but then had to replace the C. Master cylinder when it didn't work the first time. Good luck. WWW.*********** will give you a great price on a clutch master cylinder.( $59.95)

i have the same problem?

how do you know if you need to replace the master or the slave?

i looked under my dash at the pedal linkages and the master cylinder is leaking fluid down the floorboard behind the carpet. does this mean that the master is bad and causing the problem or is it just leaking?

Dude, enough already, how many problems does this car have? I hope you got a deal on it!

If your master cylinder is leaking, that means start with at least a new/rebuilt one!

I wouldn't touch a car that's leaking brake fluid through the cylinder, INTO THE CAR!

One major problem folks often overlook when a clutch pedal goes limp is the feed line to the slave cylinder from the master cylinder. It can leak and you loose pressure. Check the line out before investing in a new master ot slave cylinder.
