Cool New 1990 S2 Owner ?

Simply put I Love this car, what a blast to drive.

I am so glad a resisted the urge to get a turbo, driven correctly this car will beat a stock 944 turbo.

For the life of me I cannt figure out how to pop out the sunroof, I dont want to damage anything how do you get it out. The car came with no Manuals.

I changed the air filter in the car and it felt like I rebuilt the front end what a joke, I installed a nice K&N unit so a can forget about the filter for a few years.

Does anyone have a PDF version of a 944 S2 Operators Manual.

Thanks

Hey

I've got a 1990 S2 and to get my sun roof out all ya ave to do is push the roof down button untill you see the little arms retract fully then pull the 2 clips at the front straight down you should then be able to push the back of the sun roof straight up and then slide it back and out it might be quite stiff if it aint been out in a while, to put it back in it's just the reverse just make sure that the front clips are unlocked when you try to slide it back on and whatever you do make sure that the front clips lock back in place and that the rear arms go all the way back up and lock in and then return to the middle point or you will be playing the classic game of sunroof frisby down the motorway which will make non Porsche owners laugh for miles around!!.

one day, i forget to lock down the passengers side t-top on my iroc. 70 mph on the interstate, sudden change in air pressure, and huge lump in throat as it flew directly toward ford focus, then went over it, and to the side, smashing in thousands of pieces. why didnt those have safety latches?????

Monte:
One slight correction about the sunroof. Here's the procedure I use:

1. Open the sunroof in the regular 'flip up' mode.

2. Close the sunroof.

3. Turn the key one click counter-clockwise.

4. Press the OPEN sunroof button: the same side you would press to tilt it up. You should see the arms on the back of the sun roof retract into the roof.

5. Unlatch the front of the sunroof

6. Lift out the sunroof.

Viola! Your car is now ready for some open air touring!

HTH,
-Z.

Yes, this is true. But I find it easier to explain this way! hehe...

The difference is: most people press the 'close' part of the button to attempt to get the arms to retract: it's the 'open' part of the button that needs to be pressed.
