944 Transmission Rebuild

I am interested in rebuilding a 944 Transmission to put in my car.

Can anyone recomend a book on transmission rebuilds? I hear it requires special skills and tools.

Thank You,

Tabor

Don't know about the Haynes but the factory manual gives the steps & instructions. Haven't gone into a 16J or K as in 944 (late 924t & 944na). Been into 901 s (914 & early 911). With these you need a puller to get low gear off, a tool used with a press to get the syncronyzer teeth out of the gears, precision measuring for ring and pinion setup, and it is best to have someway of heating case parts before pressing in & out bearings. I imagine the 944 transmissions would be the same.
