55 lb injectors..... anyone have a good source

Hi Guys,

I am looking for 55 lb injectors?

Anyone know who may have some at a good price?

I tried www.racetronix.com ........ but they are out of stock.

Thanks,

Alex

Lindsey Racing has the Siemens version, and Huntley has a flavor as well.

what car are you using them on?
or should I say what resistance do you want?
I could probly get any of them.

Make sure you get the right impedence or you'll cook the DME.

I need a set for the 951........

quote: guru "All of our injectors come with a ballast-resistor assembly to prevent overheating of the Bosch Motronic DME computer. The stock injectors are a bizarre Bosch 5.5-ohm injector that is not used by ANY other car on the market. As such, there are no larger injectors available with this impedance. Using standard aftermarket low-impedance injectors (2.5-3.0 ohms) will force the driver-transistor in the Motronic computer to deliver twice as much current; eventually causing its failure."

So thats the ticket............

I need that ballast resistor and set of injectors............

other injectors.

yeah. any injector below 5.5 ohms with the right resistors.
you can see their resistor kit only has two ballast resistors, each one loads into two injectors because the dme fires two at a time.

Muscle motors

I just got a set of 4 55# low impedence seimens injectors from these guys for like $250 shipped. The web prices are for a set of 8 (except for the rc's?), so they charge a little more than half for four. I got a pair of resistors separetly from Newark for like $15.00 shipped.

Thanks Rob! Great info!

What resistors did you get? Specs? ANy install instruction!

The Newark number for the resistors I got is 01F9895.

These are 1 ohm, 50 watt resistors and you'll need 2 of them. Each resistor needs to be wired inline with each injector trigger line going to the DME. These lines are the grey and grey w/ black stipe wires that go to pins 14 and 15 on the DME plug (at least on and 86 and 87 951). As for mounting, I just modeled my installation after the GURU RACING resistor package. You can see their setup here, scroll about half way down the page.
