Fuchs refinishing source
Living in Ohio and looking for a source to refinish a set of black Fuchs wheels with a polished lip. I tried a local wheel refinishing shop and they couldn't accommodate the polished lip.
Any suggestions are welcomed. These are going on a daily(ish) driver, not a garage queen. Thanks! |
I have located some older threads with information. Wondered if anyone had a Midwest source.

it might be worth asking Tire Rack who is not super far from OH if they have any recommendations.

Are you looking to have the lips polished or are they currently polished and you just want the black centers refinished?
|
How about your local Porsche dealer or the local PCA?
|
Did you try wheel medic in Columbus?
|
I had 951 Fuchs refinished in southern CA I shipped them in and it was near perfect job however out the door $1480 with shipping both ways

Im wondering if these wheels have an anodized coating, i fyou polish and go through the anodizing perhhaps they would loook non OEM
I have the fuchs mags and beauty rings but they are not as large as the S2 version, they appear in nice shape but I'd say they are not bright like chrome and there could be some anodizing done. If you polish raw aluminum it will shine up like a new penny but quickly discolor and fade from bright and shiny to less mirror like, it is also susceptible to oxidation that may look like spots.. or like my rocker cover,, someone descibed it as " barnacles".. ;-) anodizing may be a way of keeping the variations down and making them more presentable. the metals may be not aluminum but an aluminum - magnesium alloy so maybe it changes from bright to oxidized differently than aluminum. |
This place was recommended to me a few years ago.
Harvey Weidman Weidman's Wheels Oroville, CA (530) 534-7903 If you want to stay local, I would look for custom paint shops, or ask at a local cars & coffee. |
Weidman is excellent but always very busy. I have had two sets of Fuchs wheels refinished by Tru Wheel in North Hollywood, CA. Mike does a very nice job. www.truwheel.com (818) 765-5577

Check out Sierra Madre they have a well know fuchs restorer and will send you correct boxes and ship back to them and off to their restorer…think it was $350 per rim but can appeal for a 15 percent discount…
They basically guarantee satisfaction |
