When my bud first told me about the GT3 he had heard of, I told him he was mistaken, the GT3 is the race version they sell, they wouldn't name another car that was less capable like that..... I was wrong.. Porsche has just released a new street car for the US called the GT3 for just $99k (the current turbo list for like $116, the GT2 for $185k). It's a 3.6L with 11.7:1 compression ratio and 380 HP @ 7,400 rpm, 280 ft/lbs at 5,000 rpm and rear wheel drive. Redline is at 8200 rpm because of titanium connecting rods and lightweight pistons. That's not far off the power of Ferrari's 360 Modena's 3.6L 5V V8.. (claps for porsche ... didn't take them long to catch up in the horsepower wars when they got rid of air cooling) Weighing in at just over 3,000#, Porsche quotes 0-60 in 4.3 sec with a topspeed of 190 mph. That's the best NA Porsche ever built. The Porsche site...

it is supposedly one hell of a ride. Journalists claim they would take a GT3 over a GT2 ("more of a driver's car")

i think i would too. i like cars with the emphasis on suspension rather than power (hence the 944)
