What do you guys think of the 94-97 BMW 325is
Well i was thinking of selling my 944 and buying one of those...I was offered $8,000 for my 944

I'd jump on that offer of $8k.
I used to get offers all the time on my car, when I had the 17 inch rims on it, just out of nowhere. After the problem with the left front fender +front spoiler, it's almost been impossible to even get somebody quite interested in the car! The BMWs are nice cars, but take the offer, then you can decide what you're gonna buy with the money! $8k is a lot of money for any 8v NA 944, and unless it's been upgraded restored in an unusuall way that would increase it's value, you're not likely to get that high an offer anytime soon ![]() Ahmet ------------------ It's all the driver... |

Yea, I totally agree with Ahmet. Take the 8k and look for a turbo. BMW's are nice but take my advice, I am 18 and I live in FL too and I sold my 944 and got a 4 door Sedan a (a jetta, not quite a bimmer) and I hate myself for doing it (though it resulted positively as I am now going to get a 944S.). I would definitely think about taking the 8 grand if I were you.

i have a '92 325 and i would wholeheartedly say do it. it sounds like you're looking for a more refined road machine. and if you wanted to make the 325 into a sportscar, it would not be hard as there are actually many more aftermarket items that can be found for the e36 cars.
e36's are comfortable, have very neutral handling, and are solid. a chip alone with no other mod will get you over 200 hp with 200+ ft lb torque. plus having a newer car will have it's own obvious advantages. $8k for a '85.5 944 sounds like an exceptionally good deal for you. |

rollins, it was a mistake. nothing is wrong with the car, but frankly it doesn't handle as well as i had thought. it's an easy car to drive moderately hard, but tough to drive hard.
i drove it at sears point two weeks ago. my instructor was a 50-yr old racing veteran who owns a 911 and races a modified bmw 2002. he told me right off that the 911 was the trickiest car to drive of any on the track. he personally raced his 911 5 times, and spun in two of those races! gave up trying to race it. he went on to tell me that even 15-yr race veterans have trouble controlling a 911. to much rear weight. so in conclusion, it's a fun car to drive moderately fast on a twisty road but in my opinion fails at the track, which is why i bought it in the first place. so i made a big mistake. |

It's too bad to hear that. As I recall you got it for a pretty good price so you could prolly sell it and maybe even profit from that. Or do you plan to keep it? It seems as though spring time is when the most cars are for sale, perhaps you could find yourself a nice 951 or a 951S then. In any event, sorry to hear about your disappointment with the 911.

The only thing is that I will be kinda sad after I sell it
I put so much money into restoring it and i took it from a P.O.S 944 to a Great looking 944.....so you know you kinda get attached.....and its my first real car that I bought myself Oh well...------------------ 85.5 Porsche 944 |

If some one offered me $8k for mine, I would be in the hospital from doing backflips! It would definitely help the 951 fund!
