944 muffler hanger source

Is the rear hanger at the end of tail pipe available?

The U shape bracket with bolt holes that attaches to the rubber buffer?

It seems like it only comes welded to the mufflers and not sold individually

I need one for a custom muffler I'm fabricating

Any pointers appreciated

Yep, not available separately.

If you are fabricating a muffler, fabricating a bracket should be relatively easy.

I wanted the original look and fit.

There are mufflers on ebay for cheap. I may buy one and harvest it

If you find one on ebay, or maybe in the parts book,
how about we all look at the picture ? I'm thinking maybe there is a way to fab one that looks OEM.

MW,
yes, that is possible.... I wonder why OP wants to have a "original look" in the area where it's hard to see that "original look", unless you're sitting or laying down.
I have "home-made" heat shield on right engine mount and don't care that it doesn't look like original one.

I boogered one up for my 951 about 6 years ago. Thought it would last a day! The top bracket is welded to a piece of exhaust tubing. And a hose clamp tightened it to the tip. Ugly but functional!

Im wonering if this stuff might eb good. Por 15 generally makes good rust products, this is good to 1200 degrees F and comes in grey..

https://por15.com/products/high-temp

I had another one I used on a new muffler system it wa a high temp stainless steel heat paint but had to be sandblasted or acid etched first , then cooked on, in an oven or by just running it and allowing it to heat cure.. It looked pretty OEM I thought. It had a lot of warnings on it and may be one of thoise banned substances..

I'm sure those gold colored things on Ebay will rust very quickly.

Those are for before and after the cat in the middle section of the exhaust. The rear hanger by the rear of the muffler is a lot different. It is attached to the tail pipe.
