Parting out the 87 944

It requires too much interior work due to water damage. as is this would make an excellent track car, but I dont currently have the funds to do so.

Engine has 90K miles, new WP and clutch. Belts and tensioner will be new tomorrow.
I just drove the 400 miles home from Wisconsin without a hitch. She's strong and reliable.

This is not what I had planned for this car. My aspirations far exceeded my pocketbook. I wanted to restore it but there is far too much to be done ($$$$$) to make the interior pretty again.
The full leather interior has been damaged by water during storage, but the dash has no cracks. The door panels and carpet are trash.

Anyone interested?

Are you selling the car whole or just parting it out. I might be interested in the whole car. Give me a price, either here or by email. Where at in Illinois?

paulc 06-28-2003 05:24 PM

ac compressor?

Chris_924s 06-28-2003 05:39 PM

Buddy- I'd really like someone to take it whole. It runs so nice. I'm in Springfield, IL. I'd be willing to drive it to you for a small fee- transportation costs and a plane/ train ticket back.

I'm in Illinois also, small world. Whats the status on the dash clock and the rear wiper assembly? Working, available?

Thanks mucho
ian

Mrmunky.. (Ian) Drop me an e-mail sometime, I'm all over Illinois.. I'm usually up for a beer.. I'd love a ride in that beast of yours.. I'll bring some Tool CD's..
Clock is dead (Cracked display) Rear wiper works.

Sell the car whole!

The interior is as easy to get at a recycler as the rest of the parts everyone what's for next to nothing.

Takes about a day to pull the carpets and seats and replace them.

Chris_924s 06-30-2003 04:32 PM

Easy to say.. recycler.. I'm sure in SoCal and Atlanta or NY they are a dime a dozen.. Try getting interior parts in the midwest- Near impossible!!

Everything has to be shipped...

SoCal Driver 06-30-2003 08:10 PM

What color interior do you want? I'll see what the going price is for one. Both front seats, back seat and front carpet set (the very front and the foot area in the rear "passenger" seat. How about the cargo area?

Really can't see parting out a good car just because the interior is a bit mouldy.

Chris_924s 06-30-2003 08:22 PM

SoCal- you have a valid point.
Black. I have front seats, Rear leather seat back is gone and not be replaced anyway.
I need the drivers' door panels front and rear, all the carpets, cargo (hatch) carpet, headliner and most all of the interior trim.

I think It's gonna be a track car for a while.. The more I think about it the more I DONT wanna part it out..

I'm just curious, how much would you want for the whole thing, if you were selling?
